TEDDY’S BALLET, a new ballet studio brand led by internationally renowned ballet dancer Tetsuya Kumakawa, opened in Shirokane-Takanawa.
Working in collaboration with a team of creative specialists, Equal.studio developed the lighting design to transform the studio into a stage that stimulates the imagination and brings a sense of excitement to the space. Continuous lines of light extend visually through reflections in the mirrors, while illumination close to natural daylight helps the dancers stand out beautifully. Because the atmosphere needed to shift depending on the class and program, from children’s lessons to adult sessions, we designed multiple lighting scenes that could change the character of the space. Through these transitions in light, the studio becomes a place where new scenes can emerge through imagination, expanding the dancers’ range of expression and creating a stage where emotion can be translated into movement.
