Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Sasazuka Bowl reopened following a major renewal. With no complicated rules or strict limits on the number of players, bowling remains a sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, both as competition and as entertainment. Over the past half century, Sasazuka Bowl has evolved beyond bowling itself, embracing music, food, and a wide range of events to become a place where diverse communities come together.
Working in collaboration with a team of creative specialists, Equal.studio developed a lighting design that shifts both the atmosphere of the space and the emotions of the people within it. Bright, healthy light supports those who come to enjoy bowling as a sport, while layers of colored light create a more immersive setting for those spending time with friends over music and drinks. Respecting Sasazuka Bowl’s history of carrying tradition forward through constant reinvention, we pursued a lighting environment designed to create comfortable and memorable experiences for the next 50 years.
