Asahi Terrace, a lounge for employees and guests, opened on the 13th floor of the Asahi Group Headquarters Building, an iconic structure known for its beer-glass-like form and distinctive golden sculpture.
Working in collaboration with a team of creative specialists, Equal.studio developed the lighting design for a space where business and relaxation could coexist. During business hours, the lighting was designed not simply to provide brightness, but to work together with the natural daylight entering through the windows, creating a balanced environment suitable for presentations and a wide range of other activities. In the evening, the atmosphere shifts to a softer and more relaxed setting, allowing guests to enjoy drinks, including beer, while taking in the night view of the Sumida River. A wireless dimming system enables the lighting scenes to change at the touch of a button according to the time of day and intended use. By seamlessly moving between these contrasting functions—work and relaxation—the lighting helps create an environment that encourages active communication in every setting.
